Carroll Trades and Engineering students competed in the Future Builds Electric Go-Kart Competition on May 8th & 9th.  Under the direction of Mr. Tyler Sausaman, students in the Engineering and Trade programs have been working to design and build the electric go-kart.  The project was funded in part by a grant from the Indiana Manufacturing Competitiveness Center.

Go-Kart Team members Jace Freeman, Malachi Voorhees, Wyatt Fauscett, Quentin Ellis, Evan Garrison, Kamille McNally and Noah Robbins traveled to the Greater Lafayette Career Academy on Fri. for race preparation, technical instruction, and a pit stop competition. On Sat. the Team was at the Subaru of Indiana Automotive Test Track and competed in three events: a drag race, a figure-eight race, and a nine-lap time trial with three drivers, a pit stop, and a driver change. Teams earned points based on energy efficiency, race placement, and vehicle weight. A watt-meter measured each car's energy use.  The Carroll Team finished 7th out of 17 teams and placed first in one of the competitions.  This is Carroll’s first year to compete in this competition which provides real-world experience in advanced manufacturing, engineering, and skilled trades for the students. Another great day to be a Cougar! #cougarpride

#SCHOOLPRINCIPALSDAY Principals are some of the hardest working, yet can be the most underappreciated people in the education system. Without them, a school would not operate on a daily basis. They set the academic tone by encouraging students to thrive. They implement their vision through dedication and determination to provide a successful and positive environment for students and teachers. Carroll's outstanding Principal, Mr. Jeff Shuler, goes above and beyond for our students, staff, and community! Thank you for all you do! #cougarpride
